Albert T. Padilla 70, a lifetime resident of El Ancon, N.M. passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family.He was born on Sep. 25, 1946, in Ilfield, N.M. to his parents Nicolas Padilla and Nobertita Tafoya Padilla.He was a member of the VFW and a member of the Hispanic Genealogy Research Center. He also served the San Miguel County Assessor's Office for 30 years, eight of those years as the County Assessor.He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Isabel Padilla, brother, Damacio Padilla and granddaughter, Elisa Padilla.He is survived by his wife: Barbara A. Padilla of the family home in El Ancon, N.M.; son and daughters: Lawrence Padilla (Louisa) of Coruco, N.M.; Isabel Padilla of El Ancon, N.M.; Krystyna Gonzales and husband Amado of Las Vegas, N.M.; grandchildren: Tristan Padilla, Ayisha Mares, Marina Padilla, Celestino Benavidez, Brisa Benavidez, Vespera Benavidez, Luvena Padilla, Amado Gonzales III, Ariana Gonzales, Avyna Gonzales and Aubryana Gonzales; mother-in-law: Lucy Gonzales of Albuquerque, N.M.; brother: Mele Padilla and wife Julia of Santa Rosa, N.M.; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.A public viewing will be held on Fri., Jan. 27, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Rogers Mortuary Chapel in Las Vegas, N.M. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at 10 a.m. in El Ancon Family Cemetery in El Ancon, N.M. with the following serving as casket bearers: Tristan Padilla, Celestino Benavidez, Amado Gonzales II, Jared Serrano, Ray Tafoya and Peter Padilla.
