Malionwski, Sr., Albin J.Albin J. Malinowski, Sr. was born on December 8, 1922 in Carteret, N.J. and passed away peacefully on August 29, 2017. He came to the Triple Cities to play Baseball for the Binghamton Triplets where he met the love of his life Virginia (Ginny) Phillips. He is predeceased by his parents Konstanty and Susie; sisters Sally Paul and Helen Magner; his brothers Walter and Joseph; his wife of 68 years Virginia. He is survived by his sons Albin Jr. (Claudia) of California, Walter (Cynthia) of Endicott; sisters Irene (Joe) Kopin of Florida, Thersa Rudyk of N.J.; his grandchildren Scott, Grant, Megan, Brett, Ashley and Paul; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; loved telling stories about his many hours spent in the woods, on the water and playing ball. He enjoyed camping in the Adirondacks and for 40 years at Pinecrest in Windsor for any years. He raised beagles and had many four legged friends over the years. Besides the triplets he played professional baseball for the Yankees and NY Giants organizations where he was a roommate of Yogi Berra and played with Hall of Famers Nellie Fox and Red Schoendienst. He coached baseball for adults, teens and little league including the Moose Allstars. He retired from Kroehlers after many years. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 4pm to 6pm at the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 137 Robinson St., Binghamton. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
