Alfonso AndradeOxnard, CA With love in our hearts, we announce the passing of Alfonso Andrade on October 23, 2017.Alfonso was born on September 16, 1922, in Rancho de Chupicuaro, Mexico. He immigrated to the United States as part of The Bracero Program of 1942. Alfonso was a hard worker and traveled throughout California and bordering States where work was available before settling in Oxnard California.In his retirement, Alfonso could be found tending to his lawn and his many plants. He truly had a green thumb and he loved being outdoors. Alfonso will be remembered through many story's that would bring a smile, but his ability to repurpose most anything and give it a new life was his ultimate signature. He was a man ahead of his time, inventing things before they were mass produced.Alfonso is survived by sons; Santos, Jose Nieves, Jesus and Francisco, daughters; Macrina Diaz, Gloria Jackson, Virginia Andrade Mateo, Rosa Mora, Irene Gardner and Alicia Andrade. His is also survived by a sister, Glafrida Nava as well as many grand and great grandchildren.While his spirit will remain with his family, he will be missed dearly.Recitation of the rosary is planned for 7 p.m., Thursday, November 2, 2017, in the chapel of the Camino del Sol Funeral Home, 200 North "C" Street, Oxnard. Friends may visit from 5 till 9 p.m., also on Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday November 3, at Santa Clara Catholic Church 323 South "E" Street., Oxnard.
