ALFRED CZERNY
ST. PETERS, MISSOURI — Alfred K. Czerny Jr., 80, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016 at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born on Oct. 6, 1936, in Fairmont, West Virginia, the son of the late Alfred K. and Mildred E. (Motter) Czerny Sr. Alfred served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1959, and retired from National Maintenance and Repair in Hartford. He was a member of Godfrey First United Methodist Church, Alton American Legion Post 126, Alton VFW Post 1308, Alton Wood River Sportsman's Club and the Alton Moose Lodge #951.
He married the former Sandra R. (Dunbar) in East Alton on July 18, 1964, and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Barbara Maloney (Michael) of St. Peters, Missouri, and Kimberly Seabaugh (Brad) of Saint Albans, Missouri, five grandchildren: Megan and Bradley Seabaugh Jr., Sarah, Curtis and Matthew Maloney, and one brother, David Czerny of Granite City.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Czerny.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, with Rev. Don E. Long, Jr. officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens by the Tri-County Honor Guard.
