Alfredo Guanzon July 15, 1931 - August 22, 2017 Alfredo Zialcita Guanzon, 86, of Vancouver, BC, passed away peacefully at home on August 22, 2017 with his wife and children at his side. Viewing and funeral service will be held at Ocean View Funeral Home in Burnaby, BC.Fred was born on July 15, 1931 in Manila, Philippines to Magno Guanzon and Benita Zialcita. He worked as an Anesthesiologist for 37 years before retiring from Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC.He enjoyed watching basketball, travelling internationally and spending time with his family. In August, 2001, he became a CMA Honorary Member. These Members are humanitarians who have put into practice the aims and ideals of their profession. They exemplify the words of the CMA Coat of Arms - Integrity and Compassion.Fred is survived by his wife of 58 years, Socorro Galicia Guanzon of Vancouver, daughters, Abby Kidd (Byron), Diana Tanaka (James) and Evelyn Pederson (Dean); sons, Brian Guanzon (Cavelle) and Charles Guanzon (Judith); and his grandchildren - Kimberley, Christina and Carli Kidd, Aiden, Brooke and Camryn Guanzon, Tiya and Jadin Tanaka, Tyler and Niklas Pederson.Condolences may be left in Alfredo Guanzon's online guestbook at www.oceanviewfuneral.com.
