We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Alice McFadden Tana, born on October 17, 1935 in Freeland, PA and died on October 15, 2024 . She resided in San Diego, California, United States at the time of her death..
Alice was the beloved daughter of Adrian W. and Alice T Carr. She was the loving partner and wife of Yasuto Tana. Alice predeceased Yasuto by one month.
Alice attended the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University from 1963-1967. She also attended Catholic University from 1967-1969, Georgetown University from 1968-1970 and the University of California, San Diego from 1977-1979.
Alice had a long and varied career that included public service. That career included serving as Regional director of the Council of Aging in Washington D.C. from 1967-1970 and the Liaison officer for the congressional private sector in the Executive Office of the President from 1967-1972. She was also the Director of the President's Task Force on Aging from 1972-1973. For her various services, Alice received the Presidential Distinguished Service Award in 1972.
After moving to San Diego, Alice served as the Economic development specialist and budget analyst for the County of San Diego from 1980-1982.
Alice founded and was the principal of Ask Alice, a business and personal services company from 1983, and Tana and Associates, a public relations and marketing from 1987 until her death.
Alice was also leader in the San Diego and western region of the Lions Club and was involved in the participation of the San Diego Lions Club in the annual Rose Bowl Parade.
Alice died peacefully. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
