April 6, 2015, a great reunion occurred as our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister entered through the veil to be reunited with her mother, father, brother and sisters, and her firstborn daughter who died in infancy. Also awaiting her was her Heavenly Father, who was anxious to embrace her and bestow upon her all that He had to bless her with. Alice is the youngest of five children born to Karl G and Beatrice Mae Franks Hanney. She was born on Jan. 15, 1932, in Midway, Utah. Alice is survived by her two daughters, Pamela Mae (Gary) Russell and Charlene Kay (John) Van Duren, both of Smithfield, Utah; brother: F. Kent "Bud" Hanney of Murray, Salt Lake, Utah; Four granddaughters: Charity LaRae (Riley) Hepworth, Heather Lucille (Chad) Pehrson, Amber Kay (Ivon) Cullumber and Andrea Mae (Brian) Thames and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. We will all miss her greatly but we will keep her "Spunk" alive. Our family would like to give our most sincere heartfelt thanks to Intermountain Hospice for their professional, kind and genuine concern while caring for our mother. We cannot express how truly blessed we are to have had them go through this journey with us. We could not have done it without all of them. We especially want to thank Claire; Mom loved her! A viewing will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main in Smithfield, Utah. Graveside services will be at noon Thursday, April 9, at Memorial Estates, 6500 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the services at Memorial Estates from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net.
