Alice Susan TaylorAGE: 106 • Toms RiverAlice Susan Taylor, age 106, passed away at Community Medical Center, Toms River on Monday, September 4, 2017. Alice was born on June 11, 1911 in Lakewood NJ to Thomas and Amacia Chadwick.In 1937 Alice married Dr. Raymond Taylor of Lakewood. Later they moved to Toms River where they raised their children.Alice was a long-time member of the Lakewood YWCA; traveled from 1934-1936 with the federal theater; served as a member of the American Red Cross Gray Lady Service during World War II. She was a member of the Modern Muses, a federated Women's Club; and a charter member of the Community Memorial Hospital's Dogwood Twig. Alice was instrumental in founding Community Medical Center (formerly named Community Memorial Hospital) and is a member of the Toms River Yacht Club.Alice is predeceased by her siblings, Marion Cunningham, and Thomas K. Chadwick, Jr.She is survived by children, Susan L. Taylor, Karen T. Johnson, and Raymond C. Taylor; grandchildren, Jennifer R. Anderson, and husband Daniel, Laura Johnson Scoles, and husband Jason, and Chadwick A. Taylor; great grandchildren, Christopher D. Anderson, and Brooke T. Scoles. She is also survived by her devoted and loving friend Orysya Rybachuk.Visitation will be held Thursday 11-12 pm at D'Elia funeral home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood.
