Alicia A. Lopez, who lived a fulfilling 96 years, departed from us on October 24, 2023. Born in 1927, her life story was a rich tapestry woven with deep familial bonds, enduring love, and cherished memories.

For 55 years, she was united in matrimony with Eduardo Lopez, sharing both joys and challenges. The world said its farewell to Eduardo in 2003, but their love story remains timeless. They were blessed with five children: Sally Heffelfinger, who is married to Bob; Norma Radich, whose husband Tony passed away in 2020; Eddie, united with Stacia; Irene, wife to Ron Teran; and David, husband to Vern Martin.

Alicia’s love extended to her 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored.

Beyond their immediate family, Alicia and Eduardo expanded their love, becoming foster parents to extended family members and even a stranger over the years. This act of kindness resonated with their belief in giving love and support to those in need.

She was also the sister of Juan Artalejo and William Cortez, bonds that lasted a lifetime.

Alicia’s legacy is that of love, resilience, and family. Her memory will continue to be a guiding light for all those whose lives she touched.

A visitation for Alicia will be held Friday, October 27, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary to begin at 6:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Dr., El Paso, Texas 79915.
