Alison Ruth Paddock-Shoemaker passed on February 02, 2023, following a brief illness.
She was born to James Paddock and Eva Paddock on March 22, 1962, in Preston - Lancashire, England, and came to live in the People's Republic of Cambridge in the summer of 1965.
Alison married Paul Shoemaker in 2012 and they lived together in Newton, Massachusetts with Guinea Pigs Indie & Tiva and Pet rabbit Bacon.
Alison received a degree from University of Massachusetts, Boston in Political science. Alison was inspired by design by her Architect father who practiced architecture in Cambridge from 1965 to 2000. This in turn spurred her interest in visual design. Alison attended Mass. College of Art and enjoyed a rewarding and highly successful career as a graphic designer.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, February 14 at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Bigelow Chapel, followed by a brief reception at the same location. Close family and friends .. that is most all will proceed to the grave site for Alison's internment into the earth.
There will be a Celebration of Alison’s life later this year for all to attend and share their fond memories of the great person we knew as Alison.
Alison was part of a large, adoring extended family. In addition to her husband Paul, she will be missed, but joyously remembered by her Mother, Eva, Brothers Simon and Tobias, and their wives Beth and Carol. Also nieces Zoe and Emma - to whom she was a fun-loving dedicated Aunt and Nephew Barrey James, his wife Erica, and the latest addition to the Clan - Josephine James Paddock. Also holding her dear to their hearts are “the Brits” her wonderful family in England: Aunt Milena, Cousin George, wife Andrea, cousin Jane, and husband John, and their extended families.
