It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Allan Robert Gowler of North Vancouver, B.C. on December 10th, 2016. Al was born on July 16th, 1937 to Alida and Earl Gowler in Winnipeg, MB. He moved to Vancouver B.C. in 1970. Al was a dear friend to many and loved to make people laugh by sharing jokes and funny stories. He will be especially remembered for his generosity which was often intentionally unseen. Al is survived by his beloved wife, Lona, his cherished son, Jeremy, his daughter-in-law Devon and his grandchildren, Parker and Rorie. He is also survived by his sister Marlene (Harvey) Endler, brother Dennis (Doreen) Gowler and sister-in-law Ruby Holladay. Al is predeceased by his parents and his brothers George and Jack Gowler. A mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, December 22nd at 11am, at St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church, 1360 East 24th Street, North Vancouver, B.C. Reception to follow. In his retirement, Al made many cherished friends at the John Braithwaite Community Center through his membership in the Healthy Heart Group. Al also donated his time for over 15 years as a driver for the Volunteer Cancer Drivers Society.
