Allen E. Marsh Jr., 77, died on November 9, 2016 at Clipper Harbor in Portsmouth, NH. He was born on February 25, 1939 in Ashland, KY the son of the late Allen E. Marsh Sr. and Mary E. (Kelley) Marsh. At the age of 17, Allen joined the United States Navy and served his country in the military for six years. During that time he was stationed in Cuba and in Portsmouth, NH at the Naval Shipyard. A resident of Nottingham since 1974, he has been employed for over 30 years as a power systems quality control inspector for Westinghouse. A motorcycle and snowmobile enthusiast, in his younger years, he raced snowmobiles on grass and ice and also raced cars at the New England Dragway. After his racing career ended, he spent much of his free time building hot rods and enjoyed watching the Patriots, Red Sox, and NHRA drag racing on TV. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Marjorie A. Marsh of Nottingham, NH; his daughter Tracy Lane and her husband Richard of Charlotte, NC; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his half-sister Jane Marsh of Silver Spring, MD; and many nieces and nephews. An hour of visitation will be held for family and friends on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 1-2 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Epping, NH. At 2 PM on Tuesday there will be a Memorial Service followed by Burial with Military Honors in the Southside Cemetery in Nottingham, NH.
