Allen Edward Culver Sr., 75, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, at Baptist East Hospital. He was a native of New Haven, born on April 15, 1939, to the late Martin and Corrine Bryan Culver. He was a retired employee of General Electric, a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Springfield, an Army Veteran and a member of VFW Post 5710 in Shepherdsville.Survivors include his wife, Wanda Bradshaw Culver; a daughter, Jill Adcock, of Louisville; two sons, Allen (Rhonda) Culver Jr., of Lawrenceburg, Daren (Terri) Culver, of Taylorsville; three sisters, Jeanette Greenwell and LaVerne Clark, both of Louisville, and Betty "Betsy" Culver, of New Haven; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with burial in St. Catherine Cemetery. The Rev. Ben Brown will be the celebrant.Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, with prayers at 7 p.m. at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home. Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
