Church Mother of The Greater Mt. Calvary Holy Church passed away peacefully in the hands of the Lord on Monday, July 30, 2018. She is survived by her beloved children, DeWitt Williams, Monica Hall, Cala Willaims; two brothers John (Big Boy) Willaims, Jason (Skip) Williams; grandchildren Jareck Hall,Asia Hall ,Trelani Duncan, Cynthia Willaims; 6 great-grandchildren Kobe Duncan, Courey Springer, Jamar Rouse,Tierra Clark, Zandra Mallard, Zavia Mallard and a host of other relatives, church family and friends.
Alma was born in a small home off the coast of Georgia (Tybee Island) where she learned to love the water with the help of her two younger brothers. She attended a small home schoolhouse, it was there that her that she saw she was destined to do, teach. After high school, she traveled the country fighting for the rights of African-Americans in the uneven education system. Alma settled down in Virginia area where she met her husband Robert Williams a well-educated businessman originally from small-town Georgia, it was a match made in heaven. She retired from the public school system in 1999 and started her new job church mother of The Greater Mt. Calvary Holy Church until her passing on.
Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, August 4, VIsitation 9 a.m., Celebration 10 a.m. at The Greater Mount Calvary Holy Church 60 Rhode Island st., NE. Bishop Alfred A. Owens, Jr., Senior Pastor. Interment Quantico National Cemetery.
