Alvaro “GoGo” Gomez, age 85 of Brownsville, also known as Red Gomez passed away peacefully at home with his loved ones by his side, Wednesday, August 9th., born October 7, 1937 to Alfonso and Maria Gomez.
He moved to Indiana in 1959, and he was employed by USS Garyworks for 38 years. In 1965, he married the love of his life, his girl Patricia, and she has been by his side for the last 55 years.
Alvaro is survived by his son, Alvaro II Gomez of Cedar Lake, and his daughter Christina of Merrillville, and son William Gomez of Crown Point, and son Robert Gomez of Crown Point.
Also survived by his grandchildren, Christopher Gomez, Tyler Gomez, and Tayler Gomez. Also surviving brother Bob Gomez, sisters Olivia McDonald, Alma Villarreal, and Argentina Garcia. Sister in laws, Rita Royko, and Maria Gomez.
He was an avid sport fan, loved the Blues and Jazz, and he also loved to dance. He had a larger than life personality, and touched many lives, and will forever be missed. Rest in Peace GoGo. Private services will be held.
