LAGRANGE — Alverda R. Troyer, 80, of LaGrange, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at Miller's Merry Manor in LaGrange. Mrs. Troyer was born on June 20, 1933, in Shipshewana to Harvey N. and Gertie J. (Kauffman) Glick. They preceded her in death. On Aug. 8, 1952, in North Webster, she married Richard Q. Troyer and he preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 2006. She was a military wife for 20 years, living with her husband and children in many different states and in Germany. After her husband's retirement from the Army in 1974, she returned to LaGrange County, was a homemaker and had been the co-owner, along with her husband, of the former RQ's Restaurant in LaGrange. Mrs. Troyer was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of LaGrange, where she was a member of the choir and the United Methodist Women. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Marsha and James Massino of Madison, Wis., and Lisa Troyer of Three Rivers, Mich.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Alice Troyer of LaGrange and Dana and Carol Troyer of Plano, Texas; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a brother, David L. Glick of Surprise, Ariz. A son, Richard B. Troyer and a brother, Elmer Glick also preceded her in death. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the 1st United Methodist Church, 209 W. Spring St., LaGrange, with Rev. Chris Danielson officiating. Burial will be in Shore Cemetery in Shipshewana. Calling will be Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W.
