Amy Elizabeth Dawes BurchamOct. 12, 1976 - July 10, 2017Saint George, UtahAmy Elizabeth (Dawes) Burcham, 40, of Saint George, Utah passed away on July 10, 2017 at her home after battling cancer. She was surrounded by her husband, parents and siblings at the time of her passing. Amy was born on October 12, 1976 and raised in Waukena, CA. She attended Waukena Elementary School where she played sports and was an honor roll student. She then attended Tulare Western High School from 1990 - 1994. She maintained her G.P.A. while obtaining awards in volleyball, basketball and softball. Next in her education journey, she attended the University of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Amy remained active in volleyball and softball, while earning her Bachelors of Arts degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in teaching in 1998. She then returned to her elementary alma mater where she experienced having her own classroom. Amy's next out-of-state adventure took her to Utah. She was wedded to her husband, Andrew Burcham on July 18, 2009. They made their home in Saint George, Utah. Amy enjoyed the Utah outdoor life of camping, fishing, hunting and biking. She often took part in these activities with family members. Amy had a passion for many things in life. She loved sports and to be active. She not only enjoyed playing sports, but also watching football and baseball. She had a strong passion for people, that came from a foundation of family. She was highly influenced by both of her grandmothers' love, nurture & passion for adventure.Amy is survived by her husband, Andrew Burcham, parents, Keith and Barbara Ann Dawes, siblings: Christy Dawes-Hansen, Tim Dawes, Brandon (Jenn) Dawes, stepsons: Ryan Burcham, Brandon Burcham and Robert Burcham; nieces and nephews: Brock Hansen, Bailey Adler, Grant Hansen, Ava Dawes, Kaylinn Dawes, and five step-grandchildren.
