Jun 08, 1974 - Feb 11, 2017
This obituary is administered by:
Andrea Kristin Vukusic (Morrow) Age 42, of Renton, WA, passed away Saturday, February 11th, 2017, surrounded by the love and light of family and close friends. Andrea was born on Saturday, June 8th, 1974, to Roger Duaine Morrow and Carol Esther Christopher. She was the youngest of three half-brothers and one sister. She enjoyed a playful childhood growing up in the small town of Gig Harbor, WA. She never missed an opportunity to bring joy to those around her. She cherished her friends dearly from an early age and created friendships that have lasted throughout her life. As a young girl she loved to ride her bike to Finholm's Market for a sweet treat with a friend or her sister. Her smile radiated kindness, and she was easy to love. We have great memories of hiking and spending time outdoors, horseback riding, trips to the ocean, and many long car rides to California to visit family. Andrea excelled in sports, winning many awards in soccer through high school. She was a graceful and beautiful ballerina for many years. Her presence on stage was a gift to everyone who was able to watch and perform alongside her. Andrea had a passion for travel and meeting people. She loved to see the world from the perspectives of others and embrace other cultures. Her first trip abroad was to eight European countries in 1989. Andrea graduated with honors in 1992 from Gig Harbor High School. She then attended the
University of Washington and graduated Cum Laude from Seattle University with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Andrea began her career in nursing at Providence Seattle. Following her love for travel, she spent the next four years in New York City as a traveling nurse working at Beth Israel, Maimonides, North Shore University, and Bellevue Hospitals. In between contracts she was able to travel through Europe. This time of her life was filled with unforgettable memories with friends in both New York and abroad. In 2003, during a trip to Italy, she ventured off to meet friends on the Island of Solta, Croatia. It was at a gathering there that she met her future husband, Zoran. Andrea then relocated near her sister in Turlock, CA, working at Doctors Medical Center. Zoran moved to California in 2005, and they were married that year. Her love for the Northwest brought her and Zoran back to Seattle in 2006 to settle down and begin a family. In September of 2007 their son Oliver Hayden was born. He was the center of her world, and there was nothing she wouldn't do for this beautiful boy. As a family she shared her love for travel with her son and was able to share the world with him on many family travel adventures. She flourished in her career, and was an inspiration to many as a Manager of Care Managers at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. She was always encouraging and leading those around her to be their very best selves. I think her very favorite job was as mother and wife. She also loved her nieces and nephews and family unconditionally. There was never a time she wasn't there for a friend or family member in need. "When we're not together It isn't just the friendship I missit isn't the time we spent together, or the fun we hadI miss the trust and understanding, the giving and the sharing, the peaceful companionship, the silence and the noise of usI miss everything about you." Andrea is survived by her husband Zoran Vukusic and son Oliver Vukusic of Renton, WA, her mother Carol Weaver (Steve) of Anchorage, AK, her sister Jaime Dunn (John) of Turlock, CA, her brothers John and Charlie Morrow of Redding, CA, her brother Dan Morrow (Stephanie) of Lake Elizabeth, CA, her nieces Andrea and Sarah Dunn and Abigail Morrow, and her nephews Gary and Christopher Dunn and Andrew Morrow. Andrea was preceded in death by her father Roger Duaine Morrow and stepmother Shirley Morrow. A graveside service for family will be held at Lakeview Cemetery, Seattle Saturday, March 4th.
