Andrew Myers was born in Wagoner, Oklahoma on April 27, 1933, a cherished son of Gilbert Myers and Pearlie (Robbins) Myers Coleman. He attended school and grew up in Wagoner before enlisting in the United States Army and serving his country during the Korean Conflict. After an Honorable Discharge from the Army, Andrew made his home in the Kansas City area for many years and was employed at the Ford Motor Company before his retirement. In the 1980's he returned to his home town of Wagoner. He made his home with his niece, Ann Golden, and her family for a number of years. She fondly remembers him as her "best running buddy". Andrew departed this life on Friday , May 15, 2020 at the Veterans Regional Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma, just 21 days past his 78th birthday. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Myers and Pearlie (Robbins) Coleman; maternal grandparents, John and Maggie Robbins; two brothers, Jim Myers and Milton Myers; a sister, Florence Myers; and a wife, Louise Myers. Andrew's loving family will miss him greatly. Survivors include a son, Andrew Myers, Jr., and his wife, Anita Ann, of Kansas City, KS; two stepsons, Joseph Lee Clark and his wife, Stacy, of Raytown, MO and William Clark and his wife, Carol, of Edmond, OK; one grandson, Deondre Tyrone Myers, Sr. of Kansas City, KS; five great grandchildren; a sister, Elsie Mae Allen and her husband, Norman, of Kansas City, KS; a half-brother, Richard Coleman; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Ann Golden and Paul Neal Golden of the home; other relatives and friends. The funeral service for Andrew will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2020 at the Cornerstone Community Church of the Nazarene in Wagoner. The Reverend Jeff Wooten will officiate. Andrew's nephews will serve at pallbearers and his nieces will be flower girls. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Friday at National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner.
