Angela Mcleod was born in NYC on August 21st, 1965 to her loving mother, who is deceased. Angela was raised by her grandmother who is also deceased. Angela was taught by these two elders to be an independent spirit, which she embodied throughout her life.
Angela had a fearless spirit and often allowed her fearlessness to guide her towards adventures that created lasting blessings, but also enormous lessons that defined and enriched her wisdom. She had a contagious smile & energy to match. She would often use this energy to enjoy R&B soul music & dance;….dancing was something she loved & even as she fought to confront life’s endless challenges, as well as subdue her most recent medical illness, she could always be seen rocking her head, snapping her fingers & jamming to the music.
Angela was a high school graduate & she enjoyed being an informal entertainer, as well as an advocate for the LGBTQ community. Angela also was involved in activities to improve services for people struggling with substance abuse & in need of quality HIV/AIDS medical care. She was also passionate about supporting the fight against cancer during the last few months of her life.
On November 11th, 2017, Angela departed this side of life to enter God’s kingdom. She is survived by all but one of her adult children, 6 total, who showed their love for her unconditionally. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers of whom, 1 is deceased & a host of other family members who loved her dearly.
