DOVER - Angela Wester passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016. She was born on April 2, 1936 to the late Domenique Vassalo Serra (Domica) and Thomas John Serra in Izmir, Turkey. Thomas was an Ambassador to India from Great Britain. As a child she had the privilege of travelling to many countries including Greece, Italy and Spain. She was mainly raised in British occupied India. Angela learned several languages growing up and worked as a translator for the British Consulate, translating for dignitaries at Embassies and for the United Nations. Greek, Turkish, Italian, and Latin are just a few of the 12 languages she was able to speak fluently. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, USAF Tech. Sargent. Charles E. Wester, Jr. She was a dedicated wife and as his health declined, cared for him throughout his remaining years. After he passed away, she continued to care for her family. She worked hard at Westminster Village, in Dover, as a CNA, caring for others as well. Angela was also preceded in death by her eldest son, Thomas Charles Wester in 2012. She is survived by her daughter-in-law and Thomas' widow, Anne; their children, Kristina and Lucas; her son, Henry and wife, Linda; his children, Andrew, Jennifer, Ashley, and their mother, Deborah; her daughter, Martha; her children, Filomena, Charles, Daniel and Matthew; son, Michael and wife, Tami; their child, Douglas; son, Charles and wife, Machele; their children, Thomas, Jack, Anthony, Cody; and 18 great-grandchildren. Angela enjoyed "a nice cup of tea" watching classic movies, and old westerns with a particular passion for John Wayne. She and her husband, Charles, were Masters in the Ceramic arts, enjoying time spent together pouring and painting. Later she made porcelain dolls on her own. She also attended and taught many ceramic classes at J&J Ceramics. Angela also attended Delaware Technical & Community College. She took pride in making gifts for others. Throughout the years, she liked to knit, crochet and create with plastic canvas. She liked to decorate for the holidays with the items she handcrafted. As a woman and mother, she was loving but firm to all. With neighborhood children frequently gravitating to the caring community matriarch. One could not wish to associate with better person in life or a to have a better friend. Services will be held at Trader Funeral Home in Dover on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016. The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Services begin at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
