Anita Gayle Robbins, 72, of Milton, Florida, passed peacefully on February 01, 2023 in the comfort of her own home, after suffering a long term illness. Gayle was born on September 04, 1950 in Aruba. Gayle was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and proud grandmother. She lived for the simple pleasures, and cherished spending time with her family and friends.
Gayle graduated from T.R. Miller High School in 1968. She then attended the University of Alabama for the majority of her college career, and then graduated from Livingston University in 1972. Gayle earned her degree in English and went on to teach 8th grade English at Ransom Middle School in Pensacola. She changed career paths to help her first husband in starting the business of Pensacola Pools, incorporating the retail side of the business. She was involved with the pool company for 20 years.
Gayle married Larry Robbins in June of 1972, who she meet while in college. They share 2 children, Lori and Brian. They later divorced in 1997. She then meet Dennis King, married in January 2022, after being inseparable for over 24 years! Dennis has been a loyal and devoted companion, and has been attentive to her every need until the day she passed. Gayle knew she had found her perfect match with Dennis, and always said "I don't know what I would do without him."
Gayle was a avid tennis player, and was involved in tennis clubs for many years. She had a love of scuba diving and being on the water. She loved to travel and visit new places, and meeting new people. Gayle was always willing to lend a helping hand for anyone in need. She was a lover of animals. She also loved to cook, and was fantastic at it! She enjoyed reading and playing games, such as Bunco and Bingo, among many others. Gayle simply loved life, loved to dance, and have fun!
Gayle is preceded in death by her mother Anna Louise Fuller, her father Howard O'Neil Stoddard, and her sister Candy Cashman Smith. Gayle is survived by Dennis King (husband) of Milton, FL, Debbie Welch (sister) & husband Dan of Mc David, FL, Lori Robbins Shock (daughter) of Niceville, FL, Brian Robbins (son) of Pensacola, FL, Selah (granddaughter) & Tristan (grandson) Shock of Niceville, FL, Dylan Smith (nephew) & wife Meeganne of Brewton, AL, Jeff Hess (nephew) of Tampa, FL, Nolan Smith (great nephew), along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones.
A service of remembrance and celebration of life will be held at the Community Life Church at 4115 Soundside Drive, Gulf Breeze, FL 32563 on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 2:00 pm, with reception immediately following. In leau of flowers, Gayle's wishes are for donations to be made in her memory for the thing she was so passionate about, helping animals.
