Ann J. Polhemus, 95, passed away peacefully and entered Glory from her residence on July 31, 2014. She was born on the family farm near Westfield, Indiana on December 20, 1918 to Mary and Leland Jessup. She graduated from Westfield High School in 1936, attended Butler University and graduated from Indiana University School of Nursing in 1940. There she met and married Warren C. (Polly) Polhemus on January 25, 1942. She did Public Health nursing in New Orleans while her husband served in the US Navy. After his enlistment, they moved to Anderson, Indiana where she was a mother and homemaker. She loved shopping, bridge, cooking and was an excellent pie baker. She was a member of may Womens' organizations. She and her husband moved to Florida in 2006 to be near their children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister Loiuse Sullivan. She is survived by a son, Dr. Jay K. Polhemus of Lake City, FL, a daughter, Jan Cole (Dion) also of Lake City, a granddaughter, Jenna I. Cole of Miami, Fl, a grandson, Dain Warren Cole of Steinhatchee, FL, a step grandson, Dion II (Terri) Cole, a great grandson, Zachary Cole all of Pembroke Pines, FL, a brother, Ralph (Sue) Jessup of Bloomington, IN, a dear niece, Shirley (Fred) Darling of Columbus, IN, a niece, Melinda (Herb) Hine of Camby, IN and many great, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her two faithful and loving care givers, Joyce Larson and Yvette Dandy. Pearlena Thomas and Theresa Porte also helped in her care along with her hospice nurses, Gail and Kathi.
