ANN SCHWINNEN
DELPHOS — Ann Marie Schwinnen, 83, of Delphos, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at St. Rita's Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born on November 26, 1932, the youngest daughter of Carl and Mildred (Kimmet) Holdgreve. Both preceded her in death. On August 19, 1950, she was united in marriage to Richard "Dick" Schwinnen, a well known Delphos Electrician, who died March 3, 1994. They were marred for 44 years.
Ann is survived by 3 daughters, Karol Moore of Thonotosassa, FL, Anita (Jim) Oberg of Grove City, OH, and Amy (Tony) Wehri of Delphos; one son, Daniel "Diesel" (Julie) Schwinnen of Delphos; four brothers, Robert (Donna) Holdgreve of Delphos, John (Pat) Holdgreve of Delphos, Irvin (Jan) Holdgreve of White Hall, MI and Ralph Holdgreve of Delphos; one sister, Louise McRedmond of Delphos; 6 grandchildren, Matthew (Mary Kay) Schwinnen of Elida, Stefanie (Brandon) Hoge of Westerville, Michaela Oberg of Dublin, Weston Oberg of Los Angeles, CA, and Alex and Samantha Wehri of Delphos; 4 great grandchildren, Caleb, Leah and Grant Schwinnen of Elida and Walter Hoge Westerville. Ann also had numerous nieces and nephews and would like to especially thank her nephew, Pat McRedmond for all the support and help over the years.
Preceding her in death is one son, Jerry Schwinnen, brother-in-law, John McRedmond and Son-in-law, Fred Moore.
In 1950 , she graduated from Delphos St. John's and had been a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She served as city councilwoman for the city of Delphos for two terms in the 1970's and 80's. During her younger years she enjoyed bowling, antiques, crafts, playing the slots, and living life. She especially loved to spend time at their house on Crooked lake with her family.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m., with Father Daniel Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2016, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Inpatient Hospice Center or Prostate Cancer Research.
