Ann V. SpeachNaples, FLAnn Virginia Hitchings Speach of Naples FL left this world peacefully on January 24, 2017 surrounded by her loving family in the blessed care of Avow Hospice. Lovingly known as the "feisty" Southern redheadshe was born on August 23, 1925 in Norfolk VA. She was one of five children of Harry Norwood and Louise (Thomas) Hitchings. It was in her hometown in 1943 where she met her late husband Albert J. Speach to whom she was happily married for 66 years until his death in 2010. He was her handsome Italian Marine; the love of her life. They resided in Norfolk for 46 years until their retirement in Florida.Ann was the quintessential homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.She was a tirelessly devoted matriarch to her cherished family. Her happiest times were when she was surrounded by the love of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her warm heart and bountiful table were always open and enjoyed by everyone. Her home was the favorite gathering place of friends and extended family. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched and will live on in our hearts forever. She is survived by two sons, Albert (Terri) Speach Jr., Thomas Norwood Speach; Melissa Speach; two daughters, Arlene Louise SpeachTynan and Victoria Speach Chow; nine grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, and another who will be born in April; also her brother Thomas (Ute) Hitchings; sister Betty Rae (Wayne) Bowen; sister-in-law Libby Hitchings; and countless nieces and nephews.She has now joined her beloved husband. May they rest in eternal peace together.In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Avow Hospice.A private family service will be held in her honor at Fuller Funeral Home, Naples, FL.
