Anna Conforti RizzoAGE: 80 • New CastleAnna Conforti Rizzo, of New Castle, Delaware, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 4, 2016.Anna was born on October 17, 1936 to the late Pietro and Carolina Conforti, of Calabria, Italy. She attended St. Paul's Catholic School and Goldey Beacom College. After celebrating the blessing of 80 years of life, Anna now has been reunited with her late husband, one and only true love, John F. Rizzo, Sr., her two children and siblings who went before her, daughters, Nancy Ann Rizzo and Mary Rizzo, along with her brothers, Francesco, Oscar, Anthony Conforti and sister, Mary Conforti Angeli.Anna will be watching over her many family members here on earth including her brother, Santo Conforti, sister-in-law, Marion Conforti, sister, Emily Conforti Jackson, sister-in-law, Grace Rizzo, brother-in-law, Franco Angeli, three children, ten grandchildren, one great granddaughter, future great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was known as "Mom" to her children, John F. Rizzo, Jr. and his wife, Miriam L. Rizzo, Mark Rizzo, and Cathy Rizzo Rhymes and her husband, Richard Rhymes. She was lovingly adored as "Mom-Mom" to her ten grandchildren, Ashley D. Mercado, John F. Rizzo, III, Gabriella F. Rizzo, Liana Rizzo, Gabriel Rizzo, Annaliese Rizzo, Alicia Rhymes, Richard Rhymes, Jr., Holly Rhymes, and Ana Maria DeVincentis. Her most recent blessings were her great granddaughter, Sagradia R. Mercado and her future great grandchild expected in December.Anna was important to many, as a dedicated mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, friend, and Holy Spirit Catholic Church patron. She was an avid reader and Harlequin romance aficionado. She was a logophile and always prevailed in the game of Scrabble against friends and grandchildren. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and collecting her winnings at the slot machines. Anna was passionate about her work for the Lord and giving back as she was a member of the West End Center, Blue Army, Holy Spirit Choir, and St. Peter's Club. She has blessed her family and friends with many traditions, recipes, and memories. One of the many lasting memories is one of her famous phrases that exemplifies the grandmother she was and will always be, "Who loves you?", which only resulted in one answer, "Mom-Mom". She will be forever missed and always in the hearts of many.Please join her family and friends celebrate her life. A viewing will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 12 Winder Road, Garfield Park on Sunday, November 6 from 3:00-7:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Monday, November 7 at 10:00AM.
