Anna “Anne” (Lo Vullo) Cunsolo, 90, of Rutland MA, passed away quietly on Monday, December 26, 2022 at the home of her son, James Cunsolo.
Anne is survived by her son James Cunsolo and his wife Helen of Norwalk, CT, her son Stephen Cunsolo and his wife Eileen of Worcester, MA, as well as her four grandchildren; Gina Cunsolo, John Cunsolo, Kristin Cunsolo, and Matthew Cunsolo. She is predeceased by her loving and faithful husband of 43 years, Vincent “Jim” Cunsolo, as well as her siblings Jimmy, Carmelina, Peter, and Sal. She was born in New York City, the daughter of Giuseppe and Filomena Lo Vullo.
Anne was raised in New York City, where she attended Straubenmuller Textile High School in Manhattan. She had a flare for fashion and was an accomplished seamstress. As a young woman she made clothing for herself and her family. Her first job was working at a hosiery factory, until she learned key punch and worked in administrative roles at the Lexington School for the Deaf as well as the American Bible Society. She was a Shaklee distributor for many years and excelled in sales, as she loved connecting with people.
Throughout her life, Anne was an active member at Glad Tidings Church in Manhattan, New York, First Presbyterian Church and Community Gospel Church in Queens, New York, and Holden Chapel in Holden, Massachusetts. She continued to stay in touch with and support her childhood church, the Italian Pentecostal Church in Astoria, New York. From the time she was a teenager she taught Sunday School, led Bible Studies, Women’s groups, organized fundraising for ministries, and sang in several choirs and groups. Both within and outside of the church, her passionate evangelism, heart for prayer, and care for the well-being of others inspired and encouraged many.
It was through a church group that she met the love of her life, Vincent Cunsolo. She often recounted their love story and cherished the memories of their life together. They spent many years living in New York raising their sons. Their summers were spent in Rutland, MA, where they eventually chose to build a home and make a permanent move in retirement.
Anne was truly a warm, vibrant, and generous person with a deep love and care for the souls around her. She was a loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She took the utmost joy in gathering together with her family, singing, laughing, and eating home cooked Italian food. Anne enjoyed cooking for others and would share meals with her family, friends, and neighbors.
She was a woman of prayer and would pray for others as she was led, sometimes even waking in the middle of the night to pray. She felt called to share the love of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and she did so with every opportunity she could.
She will be remembered for her beautiful life and legacy, and greatly missed by those who were blessed to know her.
Per Anne's request, there will be no wake. A private burial will be held on January 7th, 2023. A memorial service for her will be held at a later date, and an announcement will be made when that date is set.
