Anne Elizabeth FigueroaPort St. Lucie, FLAnne Elizabeth Figueroa, 75, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, died unexpectedly on September 29, 2017, at Lawnwood Hospital, Fort Pierce, FL.Anne was born on February 28, 1942, in Staten Island, NY to Gasper and Lucy DeMaio. At the age of fourteen, she entered as an aspirant in the order of School of St. Francis, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. During that time, she became a postulant and continued her education. In 1960, she was received as a novice and given the name of Lucianne. In 1962, she professed her first vows and was sent on mission to be a teacher. Several years later, she came to a difficult decision to leave the convent. Although she left the convent, she cherished lifelong friends from her class.She continued to teach early childhood and elementary school and completed her education. In 1979, she received her master's degree from Kean College in New Jersey. About that time, Anne decided to change careers.In 1980, Anne went to work in the banking industry; worked for several banks, including Chase Manhattan, Northfield Savings Bank and eventually to Richmond County Savings Bank, where she successfully initiated a mortgage broker program that she managed for several years, before going with a private mortgage company in New York City.Upon retiring to Jensen Beach, Florida, Anne used her time and talent to quilt, paint, needlepoint and other forms of art that required her skillful hands and mind. She also volunteered at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, working with the children in the school of the arts, as well as other related activities.Anne had an incredible life, making friends and being loved by so many. Her endearing personality was a great asset and Anne was always "here or there" when needed without question; always with a cheerful smile and winning desire to help. Anne is predeceased by her sister, Camilla Barbieri. Anne is survived by a brother Anthony DeMaio, a cousin, Mariellen Westcott of Ocala, FL, several nieces and nephews, and her partner of 22 years, Stephen Campbell of Port St. Lucie, FL. Annie, as she was often called, is also survived by her wonderful four-legged family, Twiggy, Jack, Stripes, Tim, Bella and Miss Kitty.A service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Port Salerno, Florida on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at 12 noon.
