Dahl, Anne M. Aug. 4, 1935 - Oct. 8, 2015 Anne McCorquodale Dahl, 80, was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven on Thursday, October 8th, 2015, residing in Boise, ID. Anne was an only child, born on August 4th, 1935 to the late George and Sophia McCorquodale of Schenectady, NY. Even though she was raised in Schenectady, she became a citizen of the world after she married her 'one and only', the late Hans 'Erd' Dahl. With her military husband and children (Trygve and Kristin), they traveled and lived throughout the US, Germany, and Thailand for nearly 30 years before settling in Sarasota, FL. Anne graduated from Nott Terrace High School in Schenectady, NY and earned a BA from Syracuse University in 1959. She was an elementary school
teacher serving in Connecticut, Germany, New York, Virginia and Pennsylvania. She was also a prolific volunteer in many organizations including the Military Wives Club, the Meadows Homeowners Association, and the Delta Delta Delta Sorority Alumni Association where she was awarded Alumnae of the Year in 2002. Anne met her husband, Erd, at Ruback's Grove in Galway, NY and summered there nearly every year from 1945-2007. Most of all, Anne will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all those she touched in her life. Her persistently positive attitude, beaming smile, and gregarious nature with friends and strangers alike were here hallmarks. Her legacy is carried forward in her 2 children and their spouses Marcy and Tim, grandchildren Nils, Samuel, Kenneth, and Jessica, and uncountable friends she has touched throughout the world. Anne's family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Willow Park Assisted Living and Memory Care unit in Boise, ID for the wonderful and loving care that they provided to their mother over the past 2 1/2 years. Memorial donations may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 7900 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota FL 34241. A service will be held in Sarasota at a future date.
