Annette Bautista (Castaneda) went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 2nd, 2015 at the age of 56.
Annette is survived by her husband John of 31 years, son Anthony, daughters Danielle and Jacqueline, two son-in-laws and 4 wonderful grandchildren, her brothers, David, Matthew, Kenny and her mother Anita. She also leaves behind two large families, the Campos/Castaneda family of Santa Paula, and the Bautista family of Oxnard.
Annette was born on June, 25th 1959 in Santa Paula, CA to Anita and David Castaneda. She graduated from Santa Paula High School in 1977 where she played softball and made lots of friendships that she carried on until her passing. She also attended Ventura College until starting her position at the Santa Paula School District, where she worked for 35 years. She was an important attribute to many of the students she worked with as an Instructional Assistant. She always made the day fun with creative arts and crafts, songs, and activities. She had a big heart and always cared for her students more than they will ever know.
Annette had a beautiful spirit and was always smiling, laughing, and making jokes. She also loved to talk and share stories. Even when she saw people she hadn't seen in years, she made it a point to go say hello and genuinely see how they were doing. Being born, raised, and having lived her whole life in Santa Paula, it is safe to say she knew everyone. So, even short trips to Vons were made long by the people she would stop and talk to in the aisle. She always wanted the best for everyone. Annette was also a woman who wore her heart on her sleeve. Sure enough, whenever she would see someone in need or heard a sad story, you could look at her and see tears in her eyes. She had an amazing amount of empathy for this world. We could use more people like her.
Annette was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter and sister. She always said I love you and showed it. While her family is deeply saddened and forever changed by this loss, they hold onto the fact that Annette lived a good life filled with love and Jesus. She is now home in the arms of The Lord, and with family and friends who have gone before her. She will be greatly missed everyday. Her family looks forward to the day they see her again in heaven.
A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, October 10th, at 10am at South Coast Fellowship located at 4050 Market St. in Ventura, CA. There will be a coffee and doughnut reception immediately following the ceremony.
