Anthony J. MingoraYorkAnthony Joseph Mingora, 56, died Friday, July 29 at 9 a.m. at home following a valiant battle with multiple myeloma. He was the devoted husband of Wendy E. (Browning) Mingora and the loving father of four beautiful daughters: Elena, Olivia, Claudia and Sophia. Tony was born on September 18, 1959, in York to Andrew and the late Gesua (Fregapane) Mingora. He was a 1977 graduate of York Catholic High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S.
Army where he served as a pharmacy specialist and later in the Army Reserve. He returned to York, graduated from York College in 1986, and for 38 years, worked in many areas of the pharmacy industry including the U.S. Army, local retail pharmacies, nursing homes and most recently as a certified Pharmacy technician (CPhT) at Home Solutions Infusion Therapy. He was a member of Pharmacy Technician Certification Board since 1995. Tony was a lifetime member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church, York, and also attended Yorkshire United Methodist Church with his family. He enjoyed being a greeter, usher and delivering altar flowers to shut-in members with his wife."B Positive for Life" was not just his blood type but his mantra for living. Tony was gifted with a generous, kind heart and a quick, contagious sense of humor. He used these gifts to support a program "Miles in the Morning" in East York Elementary School. He loved to introduce the sport of running to the students and cheerfully organized volunteers for the "chain gang" for home York Suburban football games.Tony was an avid sports fan and reveled in the many activities and accomplishments of his four daughters. From their youth soccer programs and mission events to their academic successes and their collegiate sports careers, Tony cheered his daughters and their teammates on with energy and vigor.Also left behind to cherish his memory are sisters, Marie Bair and husband Tim, Rose DeGregorio and husband Kyle; as well as many nieces and nephews who loved and respected their Uncle Tony. He was also loved by many aunts, uncles and very special cousins and friends.Viewings will be Wednesday, August 3, from 5-9 p.m. at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York, and at Saint Patrick Church, 231 S. Beaver St., York, on Thursday, August 4 from 8-10 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 am. Burial will be in Holy Savior Cemetery.
