ANGOLA — Anthony A. " Tony" Spence, age 61, of Angola, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015, in at Dupont Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on December 7, 1953 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Edward James and Marion Eda (Segal) Spence. They preceded him in death. He married Gale Linn (Kline) on April 27, 1976 in Hudson, Indiana, she survives. He was a United States
Army and Marine Corps veteran, and served in the
Vietnam War, and served in the Ohio National Guard, 983rd Engineer Battalion. He worked as a cashier and bookkeeper at Petro Truck Stop, Fremont, Indiana, and also worked as a cashier at the Angola Walmart. He was an avid Ohio State fan, he loved sports, and he loved the military, and sitting at Tom's Donuts. Survivors include his wife, Gale Spence of Angola, Indiana; his three children, James Allen Spence, Stacy Ann Spence, and Danial Spence, all of Angola, Indiana; a sister, Dianne Lynn (Harold) Breidenbach of Lima, Ohio; four grandchildren, Jakob Edward Spence, Braylee Spence, Jaxon Spence, and Josh Kunkle, all of Angola, Indiana; and four adopted children, Cathy Focht, Tina Miron, Jodee Hunter, and Jim Hunter, all of Lima, Ohio. There will be a visitation from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at the Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana. There will be a memorial service held at Sonlight Community Church immediately following the visitation at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2015, with the Rev. Brad Belcher and Pastor John Boyanowski officiating. Burial will also be held at a later time at Lakeside Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana.
