Antonette Marie Danielsen (Stančić) passed away peacefully at home on February 3, 2025, at the age of 90, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 19, 1934, on East Georgia Street in Vancouver, she was the cherished daughter of Croatian parents Anton and Klementina Stančić. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Per Danielsen; in-laws, Peder and Hulda Danielsen; and her son, Stephen Danielsen.
Antonette is lovingly remembered by her children, Tina-Marie (Stewart), Anton (Nicole), and Vincent (Colleen); her daughter-in-law, Donna; and her adored grandchildren, Luke, Hannah (Scott), Samuel, Ty, Danica, Nicole, Paris, Jasmine, Cole, and Mya. Nothing brought her more joy than being a devoted wife, mother, and Nonni. She expressed her love through unwavering support, generosity, and wise counsel.
Her happiest moments were spent in the kitchen, cooking for her family and passing down treasured Croatian recipes through the generations. She found joy in sewing, knitting, and baking, always gifting her handmade creations to those she loved. Antonette had an impeccable sense of style that lit up every room. Our glamorous mom who had a passion for interior design, filling her home with eclectic treasures collected since her marriage in 1963.
Antonette faced every challenge throughout her life with bravery and a deep determination to live and be the strength for her family. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to dear friend Dr. Susan O’Reilly, her GP Dr. Barbara Hejdankova, oncologist Dr. Anna Tinker, the Canadian Cancer Society staff, and the dedicated nurses of Vancouver Coastal Health.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society are greatly appreciated.

Families planted a tree for Antonette.
Tina Marie, thank you so much for your phone call. How thoughtful of you to take the time to share remembering your very special mother. Our families were connected and because of this Annette took me under her wing and we ended up with a very close friendship. I was thrilled when she chose me to be one of her bridesmaids. When your parents set up each of their homes, I just so admired your mother's unique ideas for each one. Her creativity continued in her children's homes. She loved to sew. I have some Christmas table toppers that she made and I treasure and use them each Christmas. As we aged and slowed down, our friendship carried on over the phone lines. Annette was a very special friend and I will miss her. May she rest in peace. Our deepest sympathy to you, your brothers and your families, Arnie & Annette (Brajcich) Nelson anelson2@telus.net
