Antonia Carbonel Martinez was born on December 12, 1927. Antonia C. Martinez was promoted to glory on April 7, 2018. She is survived by her six children, 18 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren.
Antonia loved the Lord with all her heart and brightened every room she was in. She lived her life to the fullest and loved helping people. She was a pioneer in establishing The Salvation Army in Guam. Her love for the Lord shined through her work with The Salvation Army. Every Sunday she faithfully attended services and recruited people to the congregation, in order to learn about and to love God. She is the perfect example of a true and faithful servant of God. Antonia touched countless hearts during her long life and continues to live on in them.
Her favorite bible verse which attests to her faith and last day on Earth is:
Psalm 23: 1-6 "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life, And I will dwell[a] in the house of the Lord forever."
Although Antonia is no longer physically with us, her light remains in our hearts and we take solace in the fact she has been called home to the Kingdom of Heaven to be with our Lord and her family.
