Antonio “Tony” Biagio Albini, 85, died Wednesday February 3, 2016 at Kaiser Hospital in San Rafael, CA from heart failure.
Tony was born September 22, 1930 in Tomales, CA not long after his parents arrived fromMoliterno, Italy. In 1945 he moved with his family to Petaluma, CA. After graduating from Petaluma High School in 1948 he entered the United States Air Force. In 1952 he married his late wife the former Patricia Righetti. During this time Tony attended the Hotel and Restaurant School at the San Francisco City College in San Francisco, CA. He also worked as a chef at the Mark Hopkins Hotel. From 1958 until 1978 he and his brother Bruno owned and ran the California Bakery in downtown San Rafael, CA. Tony also worked briefly for the WilliamSonoma company introducing the IL Fornaio franchise.
From 1983 until 1998 he and his wife Patricia owned and operated Creekside Bakery in Novato, CA. His wife Patricia died in 1998 after a brief illness. In 2006 he married Loraine Bresciani-Albini.
He is survived by his loving wife Loraine Bresciani-Albini; his brother Bruno Albini and his wife Patricia; his son, Steven Albini (Sandra); his daughter, Catherine Lopez; stepson, John Bresciani (Stephanie); stepdaughter, Terry Linder; granddaughter, Celia Lopez; grandson, Giovanni Albini; step-grandsons, Trevor Linder; Tyler Linder; Brandon Bresciani (Lia), step daughter in law, Pam Bresciani; great-grandson, Angel Lopez; brother in law, Hank Righetti (Judy) and numerous nephews and nieces.
Tony had a passion for cooking and baking. He also loved traveling and camping. He loved spending time with family and friends. At Tony’s request services will be private. The family has requested donations to the charity of your choice in Tony’s name.
