Please celebrate with us on the passing of Antonio Jorstad, 93, of Manhattan, New York, passed on October 14, 2022.
He had a lengthy battle with Covid-19 which he fell short to this past weekend with family and friends.
Antonio was born on January 02, 1929 in Napoli, Italy and was brought to New York with his parents, Angela and Romero Jorstad at the age of 2.
Growing up in Queens, NY, graduating from Flushing High School, he would help his parents by deliver papers and finding odd jobs to while attending highschool.
He had a hustle mentality and a no quit kind of attitude which was contagious, he always had a smile on his face and positive energy about him. He lived through two World Wars, eventually serving 4 years in the military, and soon after returning home marrying his long time girlfriend Elena Rossi, and shortly after having his first son Tony Jr.
He was the ultimate family man, loved being home with the family, enjoyed going to upstate NY to go hiking but also loved the big city and the city life. He was dedicated to his work though which was a urban horticulturist, ultimately studying at the University NY university which he earned his BA in horticulture.
He believed in a self sustaining life style, growing a lot of his own produce. He was also a huge proponent of cannabis legalization and in his later years, was highly active in the movement of legalization.
He lived a full life and a happy life and that's all anyone can ask for. So please join us this Sunday, October, 23 at 2pm for a celebration of Antonio Jorstad life at Coppola Migliore, Queens NY.
