Antonio "Tony" Torres Jr., US Army (SGT), was called home peacefully at the age of 33 on September 20, 2017. Tony was born on March 2, 1984 in El Paso, Texas. He loved his family, friends, fishing, and the Dallas Cowboys. His greatest passion was the honor of being a United States Army soldier where he served two years in Iraq. Tony always expressed that his years in the military were the happiest of his life. He was a brave hero and always protected his loved ones. Tony is loved and cherished by many and was well known for his contagious smile. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Elvia Torres and is survivied by his sons, Emanuel Nevarez and Antonio Torres III (Julie Torres). Also left to cherish his memory are his parents, Antonio Torres Sr. and Gloria Cooper (Nathan Cooper); sisters, Erika Torres and Amber Rodriguez; paternal grandfather, David Torres Sr.; maternal grandparents, Tomas and Virginia Duran; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and battle brothers. Pallbearers are David Torres Jr., Tommy Duran Jr., Nathan Cooper, Johnny Duran, Charlie Torres, Jonathan Duran, and Gabriel Mendez. Honorary pallbearers include Bryan Campos and Giovanni Jayme. A special thanks to Haroutioun Shahinian, MD and Michael Annabi, MD as well as all the medical staff at Las Palmas Hospital. We are equally grateful to all family and friends who helped cared for Tony. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home, 9521 North Loop Drive, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church, 503 Hunter Drive, at 10:15 a.m. followed by a graveside service with Military Honors at Ft.
