Apolonia (Polly) Maynes Casillas, the matriarch of the Maynes family, passed away on January 24th at Gila Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Polly was an exceptional and loving mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. She loved her family unconditionally, and left a lasting legacy of love, laughter, and faith in God. Polly was known to be opinionated, feisty, strong, and full of life. Recognized around town driving her blue pickup truck, Polly was a true people-person – she never met a stranger – who enjoyed music, dancing, and telling jokes. Polly was a life-long devout parishioner of St. Ann's Catholic Church, and a member of the Apostolate of the Sacred Heart.Polly was born on April 22, 1925, to Manuel & Nicolasa Maynes. She married Angel H. Casillas on October 1, 1945, and together they had 3 children. Preceded in death by her husband, she is survived by her children: Teresa McLane, Manny (Loretta) Casillas, and Nickolasa (Niki) Casillas; her grandchildren: Manny Jr (Lonnie) Casillas, Michelle (Justin) Nunn, Wanda (Zivan) Snively, Greg (Jennifer) Hand, Tomas (Priscilla) Casillas, and Celeste Miranda; ten great grandchildren, Nicholas and Hannah Casillas, Kelsey and Tristan Nunn, Peyton Hand, Emma, Sara and Julian Casillas, Lia and Madison Snively and one great-great grandchild, Wynn May.Visitation will be on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 5-6pm with the holy rosary beginning at 6pm with Loretta and Lonnie Casillas officiating at Terrazas Funeral Chapels. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 10am at St. Ann Catholic Church with Father Enrique Lopez Escalera officiating. Concluding services with an interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Manny Casillas, Jr, Tomas Casillas, Greg Hand, Justin Nunn, Tristan Nunn, and Joe Holguin. Honorary pallbearers are Consuelo Apodaca, Jesusita Molina, Alice Tinney, Virgie Pastran, Amado Casillas, Domingo Maynes II, Joe Pastran, Mariano "Nano" Casillas, Daniel Maynes, Eulalio Maynes, Henry Maynes, Javier Flores, Abelardo Jimenez and Antonio "Tony" Flores.
