SPENCERVILLE — Arden V. Dwyer, 82, died Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She was born on September 7, 1933 in Defiance, Ohio, to the late Theodore and Genevieve (Yearling) Slough. She married Jim Dwyer on March 5, 1953 in St. Peter Lutheran Church in Spencerville. Surviving are her husband, Jim Dwyer of Spencerville; daughters Jayne Dwyer-Reff (Jerry Reff) of Fort Wayne and Susan Bungard (Bryce Heller) of Fort Wayne; sons Tom Dwyer of Houston, Texas, and John Dwyer (Cheryl Rece) of Spencerville; grandchildren Adam (Katie) Reff, Amy Reff, Angela (Brad) Ratliff and Benjamin (Kellie) Bungard; and great-grandchildren Addison and Ethan Ratliff and Ava, Truett and Lucia Bungard. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Randy Bungard. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Spencerville and loved spending time with her family. Arden retired as the manager of the Auburn License Branch, also working at the Grabill License Branch, General Electric and International Harvester. She was the current President of the DeKalb County Election Board, served as Secretary of the DeKalb County Republican Party, was a 64-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Spencerville where she became a Member of the Grand Family twice and served as Deputy of the State and Grand Star Point and Worthy Matron. She was also a former member of the Spencerville Community Club and served on the DeKalb Memorial Hospital Board. Calling will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2015, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Spencerville, with an Eastern Star service at 8 p.m. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2015 at the church. Burial will be in White City Cemetery, Spencerville.
