CaligiuriWest Des MoinesArlene Catherine Caligiuri went to join her family in heaven on Saturday, December 17, 2016.Arlene was born on a farm November 5th, 1924 in Dedham, Iowa to Frank & Anna Schwaller. She was one of eleven children, nine sisters and one brother. Arlene graduated from Saint Josephs in Dedham, worked as a housekeeper, then attended Beauty School. She worked at the Jungle Club in Des Moines before joining North Western Bell, where she retired in 1988.Arlene is preceded in death by her beautiful daughter, Julie Ann Ligouri, parents, Frank & Anna Schwaller, eight sisters, Laura, Jennie, Grace, Stella, Irene, Rose, Marjorie, and Louise. One brother, Phillip and husband Frank CaligiuriArlene is survived by daughter Meade/Mary Lou Copeland (Al), Atlantic Beach, Florida, sons, Gary Schroeder (Florene), Melrose, Iowa, Robert Schroeder (Melissa), Wildwood, Florida, and Anthony Ligouri (Bonnie), Grimes, Iowa, six grandchildren, Jean Paul, Ivich, Sonny, Nick, Alex, and Zach, and nine great grandchildren. Beloved sister and friend, Mary Matteer, Des Moines, Iowa.Arlene was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in West Des Moines, Iowa.Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 23, 2016, 10:00am, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1627 Grand Avenue, West Des Moines, Iowa 50265. Visitation on Thursday at Dunn's Chapel, 2121 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50312. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7pm, with a rosary at 7pm. Inurnment will be at a later date next to her daughter Julie at Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines, Iowa.Memorials: Hospice of Central Iowa.
