Arlene Evelyn GlesneBorn: March 6, 1951Died: Sept. 3, 2015Arlene Evelyn Glesne, 64, of Pekin, IL passed away at 1:15 a.m. Thursday, September 03, 2015, at her home. Arlene was born on March 6, 1951, in St. Charles, IL to Fabian H. and (Evelyn) Fridgen Lewis. She married Mark E. Glesne on August 28, 1971 in St. Charles, IL.Her parents preceded her in death.Surviving are her husband, Mark of Pekin; one daughter, Elizabeth (Chris) Marlow of Orland Park, IL; two sons, Brian (Heather) Glesne and Kurt (Stacey) Glesne both of Pekin; eight grandchildren, Sophia, Gavin and Chase Marlow, Lucas, Emily, Taylor, Elle and Vivian Glesne; three brothers, Richard (Linda) Lewis of Geneva, IL, Philip (Maureen) Lewis of St. Charles, IL and Tom Lewis of Tualatin, OR; two sisters, Barbara Smith of Ontario, CA and Rhonda (William) Kochlefl of Winnetka, IL.Arlene was a 1969 graduate of St. Charles High School and a 1973 graduate of Western Illinois University with a B.A. in education. She was a media center teacher at Cicero High School and a homebound teacher at Pekin Community High School. Arlene was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and its Resurrection Choir. She was an avid golfer and was the Ladies Club Champion in 2006-2007 at Santa Lucia Country Club at Port St. Lucie, FL. She had served as President of the Celestial City Ladies Golf League and the Sunset Hills Ladies Golf League. She established a fund raising event, the Ladies Fall Classic to benefit Illinois Neurological Institute. She helped established the Boys Track and Field Booster Club at Pekin Community High School. She had been a volunteer for OSF St. Francis Hospice and enjoyed quilting. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Michael Andrejek officiating. There will be a Rosary service at 4:15 p.m. and visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Pekin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Organ Fund at St. Joseph's or OSF St. Francis Hospice.
