Arlene M. MeyerOctober 27, 1924 - November 30, 2016AnnvilleArlene M. Meyer, 92, a lifelong resident of North Annville Township, entered her heavenly home on November 30, 2016. She was born on October 27, 1924, daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Light) Hostetter. For over 70 years, she was married to J. Henry Meyer who passed away on November 10, 2016.She was a graduate of Annville High School and had worked at Hershey Chocolate Company, before becoming a full time mother. She worked with her husband in farming and spent her time nurturing her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her endless love and patience were remarkable. She enjoyed baking and her family loved her pies and cakes, as well as her opera fudge which was a Christmas tradition. In earlier years, she enjoyed gardening and then canning and freezing her produce. Her hobbies also included quilting, knitting, crocheting and reading her Bible. She was a faithful member of Kauffmans United Methodist Church and the Missionary Women Group. She was also a member of the Bellegrove Fire Company and the local Farm Women Group and she often volunteered at the Friendship Fire Company.She is survived by five children, Kenneth Meyer and his wife, Connie of Lititz; Dianne Kline (Ray) of Lebanon; Suzanne Forney and her husband, Glenn of Annville; John Meyer of Lebanon; and Ellis Meyer and his wife, Stephanie of Annville. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, (and spouses), Rachel, Meredith, Elissa, Mikayla and Austin Meyer, Amy Leonard (Jason Stichler), Travis Leonard (Jennifer), Corinne Summers (Grady), Kate Kreps (Benjamin) and Molly Raudensky (Andrew); and eleven great-children, Madeline, Amelia, Grayden and Blake Summers, Nicholas, Claire and Thomas Leonard, Ellen and Isaac Kreps, Leighton Raudensky and Jane Stichler. She is also survived by one brother, Dale Hostetter of Annville; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings, Elvin, Albert, Carl, Henry, Betty and Dora Hostetter, June Early, Mildred Blouch, Marian Barnhart and Mary Buffenmeyer.Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Kauffman's United Methodist Church, 380 Kauffman Road, Annville. Interment will be in Kauffman's Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the Church.
