Arlene (MacNeely) Saltzman, 84, of Glastonbury wife of the late Mervyn Saltzman died peacefully on Friday, December 9, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford after an extended illness. She was born on January 7, 1932 in Hartford daughter of the late Joseph W. and Frances (Dixon) MacNeely. She was raised in Manchester, attended local schools and was a 1950 graduate of Manchester High School. Arlene was employed as an Administrative Clerk at the Rockville Superior Court for over 20 years before retirement in 1999. Arlene enjoyed traveling and spending time with her loving friends and family. Arlene is survived by her three children; Stephen Gronski of Agawam, MA, Michael Gronski and his wife Sherry of San Diego, CA and Barbara Prechtl of Elkridge, MD, two stepchildren; Mark Saltzman of Smyrna, Georgia, and Jill Saltzman of Montreal, Ontario, Canada: her five special grandchildren; Meaghan Gronski and Collin Gronski both of West Springfield, MA, Emily Prechtl of Wellesley, MA, Matthew Prechtl of Elkridge, MD, and Haley Gronski of San Diego, CA. She also is survived by her sister Doris Rivosa of Manchester, her brother and sister-in-law Harold and Marguerite MacNeely of Centerville, MA and many loving nieces and nephews. Arlene's family would like to thank the staff at the Glastonbury Health Care Center for their kind and compassionate care. Family and friends are welcome to attended visitation at the Watkins Funeral Home, 142 East Center St. Manchester on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 12:30-2:00 pm with a service to begin at 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
