Arlette Maclin PostonMemphis, TN Arlette Maclin Poston was granted her angel wings on April 28, 2017. She was born on December 29, 1926 in Memphis, Tennessee. She was the eldest of two daughters born to the union of Robert Maclin and Martha Hayes Maclin Taylor. Arlette is survived by her devoted daughter, two granddaughters and two grandsons. She also had eight great-grandchildren, one brother-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.Arlette attended Booker T. Washington High School and graduated college with a degree in Home Economics and a minor in Science at Tennessee A & I (Tennessee State University). She later attended Memphis State University (University of Memphis) to receive a Master's degree in Educational Administration. The majority of Arlette's teaching career was spent as a fourth grade teacher and she later became an Assistant Principal at Cherokee Elementary. She retired from the Memphis City Schools system in 1992, spanning a career of 45 years.The family will receive friends on Friday, May 5 from 4-7 p.m. at MJ Edwards Funeral Home, Stage Road location.
