SOMERS - Arlo Francis Funk died on November 27, 2015, at Advocate Good Shepherd hospital at the age of 86. He was born on July 17, 1929, in Somers, Wisconsin, to Theresa V (Fonk) and Theodore W Funk. The tenth of twelve children, he grew up during the depression years while attending school. Arlo married Jeanne Lorayne Skillings on June 14, 1958, at Holy Name of Jesus parish in Wilmot, Wisconsin. He continued to dairy farm in partnership with his brother Louis. He enjoyed time with friends, baseball, travel, golf, cribbage, hunting and fishing. In the Kenosha area he was active in the Fraternal Order of the Moose and associated American Legion Post 552. Retiring from his career at age 68, he and his wife, Jeanne, relocated to Jacksonville, NC in 1997. In Jacksonville he had been active in Knights of Columbus council 3574 and East Carolina Seniors Golf Association where he was serving as a board member the last couple years. He is survived by children and their spouses: Paul and Ann (Rhodes) currently in Germany, Orine Funk in Jacksonville, NC, Sidney and Stacy (Leonhardt) in Wesley Chapel FL, Ted and Emily (Marshall) in Island Lake, IL. He has 11 grandchildren and 7 great grand children. He is survived by the following siblings and their living spouses: Angeline Funk (Poreio), Georgeanne Funk (Tures), Mary Ann Funk (Urban), Dolores Luebke, Rita and Richard Norlander, Teresa and Charles Bach, and Susan Meyer. Arlo was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife Jeanne, three sisters: Leona Katherine Hart, Ethel Stella Dase, Hazel Willkomm and five brothers: Clifford T, Norman V, Everett J, Louis H, and Henry. Memorial Mass will be at 10:30 am Monday 12/7 at St. John the Baptist parish 1501 172nd Ave, Union Grove, WI.
