ARNOLD F. WINGERT, 85 LENA - Arnold F. Wingert, 85, passed away on May 10, 2013 at the UW Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born on September 9, 1927, in West Point Twp., Stephenson County, IL, to Floyd C. and Laurene (Blackbourn) Wingert. Arnold served our country in the United States Army from 1945-1946. He married Ruth M. Siedschlag on January 8, 1948 at the First United Methodist Church in Freeport, IL. Arnold farmed for 25 yrs in the Lena area. He also worked for Freeport Machine Works 3yrs, a Lena School bus driver for 15yrs and at FS in Lena as a delivery man. Arnold was a member of the Lena United Methodist Church, he served on the Lena Cemetery Board, a member of the American Legion Post #577, Sprague-Inman, and a past Masonic Lodge member. He liked old farm trucks & tractor's, antique toys and was a community volunteer. Arnold is survived by his wife Ruth of Lena, a daughter; Marcia (Neil) Connor of Sun Prairie, WI, and a son; Charles of Lena, five grandchildren; Christopher (Katie) Connor of Madison, WI, Mary Jane and Vicki Connor of Madison, WI., Jessie and Jessica Wingert of Lena, a sister; Ada Welker of Lena, IL. a brother Boyd (Johanne) Wingert of Lena, IL, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by a daughter; Vicki Campbell and a granddaughter; Deidra Campbell both in 1969 Funeral Service will be Monday at 11:00 am on May13, 2013 at the Leamon Funeral Home, Lena, IL. isitation will be from 9:00 am until time of service on Monday, May 13, 2013. The Reverend Brian LeBaron will officiate. Burial will be at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport, IL. In Lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for the American Legion in Lena, IL.
