CAPARULA, ARTHUR F.CAPARULA ARTHUR F. Age 80 of Elmira Heights, NY passed away on Tuesday May 2, 2017. Arthur was born on November 23, 1936 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Michael and Josephine Petti Caparula. Art had worked at General Electric in Elmira , NY and retired as Head of Maintainence and Security for Schweizer Aircraft in Horseheads, NY. Mr. Caparula was a communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Church. He was a Village Trustee and Former Mayor of Elmira Heights, NY. He was a member of the Elmira Heights Fire Department and was Past President and Recording Secretary. Arthur also arranged for bands in the Oakwood Ridge Park in Elmira Heights and he worked at Mark Twain Golf Course. Art was pre-deceased by his wife Janice M. DeGolyer Caparula on February 19,1994. He was also pre-deceased by his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Shirley Caparula and his beloved Dalmation Arson . Art is survived by his son: Walter M. Caparula of Elmira Heights, NY; daughter and son-in-law: Annette and Robert Ryan of Elmira Heights, NY; special granddaughter Cali Holmes; sister Delores Hogencamp of Chattanooga, TN; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Gail Minch of Horseheads, NY; Lillian Elwood of Hammondsport, NY; John and Joy DeGolyer of FL, Dorothy and George Foray of Horseheads, NY; Peggy and Don Johnson of FL; Dick and Barbara DeGolyer of Elmira Heights, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of caring friends including his Loving Companion Diana Belknap. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Saturday May 6, 2017 from 10AM-11AM. Mr. Caparula's Funeral Services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 11AM. Interment in St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery in Elmira, NY.
