Post, Arthur L.Arthur L. Post, age 79, of Painted Post, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017 at Guthrie Corning Hospital. He was born on May 17, 1937 in Cortland, the son of the late Stephen Edward and Florence (Call) Post. He married Elizabeth Carapella on July 9, 1960 at St. Mary's Church. She predeceased him on December 29, 2001. Art was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather and looked forward to spending time with his family. He was a member the Ancient Order of Hibernians and a communicant and choir member at All Saints Parish. Art was a Boy Scout Cub Master, the recipient of the Diocese of Rochester St. George Emblem, and he retired from BOCES. He spent his leisure time fishing, singing, playing guitar, playing cards, and karaoke.He is survived by his sons, Michael (Virginia) Post of Quakertown, PA and Stephen (Susan) Post of Elmira, daughters, Theresa (Glen) McCarty of Corning and Catherine (Ed) Buck of Corning, grandchildren, Joseph McCarty, Peter McCarty, Angela Buck, Gabrielle McCarty, Sarah Post, Andrew Buck, and Laura Post, brothers-in-law, Philip Carapella and Terrance O'Bryan, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Art was predeceased by his sister, Margaret O'Bryan.Family and friends are invited to call at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00pm. Art's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 9:30 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 155 State Street, Corning.
