Steen, 90, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at Northbrook Care Center in Cedar Rapids.A visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at First Assembly of God Church in Cedar Rapids. Interment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.In-Lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to First Assembly of God Church.Arthur was born on February 4, 1927, in Bethel, Minnesota, to Carl and Delia Vick Steen. He was united in marriage to Peggy Friend on September 13, 1952, in Havre De Grace, Maryland, to this union four children were born. Following his High School Graduation in 1944, he enlisted with the United States Merchant Marines and was honorably discharge in 1946. In 1950, he was drafted into the Unites States Army and served during the Korea war before his discharge in 1952.Arthur drove buses for Charter Coaches and the Linn-Mar School District as well beginning a 30 year career with the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier in Marion. Arthur was an avid sports fan, and he especially liked following the Chicago Cubs and Iowa State Cyclones. He enjoyed fishing and was a proud member of 60 years with the First Assembly of God Church in Cedar Rapids.Arthur will be missed by his sons, Dennis (Sheryl) Steen of North Port, Florida; Terry (Karen) Steen of Tampa, Florida; Craig (Chris) Steen of Ankeny; Neil of Cedar Rapids; one sister-in-law, Beverly Steen of Waterloo; seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy in 2010, after 57 years of marriage. One sister, Crystal (Myron) Spilde, three brothers, Merlin (Louise), Lester (Ardis), and Carsten Steen.
