Arturo Corona MedinaJune 15, 1929 - June 09, 2017VisaliaArturo Corona Medina 87, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.He was born on June 15, 1929 to Bartolo Medina and Soledad Corona in La Estancia de Landeros, Jalisco, Mexico where he attended school till 3rd grade. Arturo began his journey from Jalisco, Mexico to the United States in the late 1940's. He resided in the state of Arizona for a short period of time working in the cotton fields. After the cotton season was over he ventured to California where he continued his journey as an agricultural worker in Delano and Lodi. In the early 1950's he settled and was employed by J.D Martin Ranch (Rancho Blanco) located north of Ivanhoe. While still residing in J.D Martin Ranch he also worked in a gold mine owned and operated by the ranch in Sparks, Nevada. When not working in the mine, he continued working in agriculture. He later retired from Paramount Citrus in 1998. In his retirement he devoted all of his time to his two grandchildren.In the year 1959, he met his soul mate Jennie Vaca. After a 3 year courtship, they were married on December 15,1962. In 1967 they happily welcomed their only child Soledad. Jennie and Arturo were happily married for 54 years.He loved spending time with family, visiting friends, driving his bright yellow 1956 Chevy pick up, going to the casino, walking St. Johns River bank and listening to music. Rancheras were his favorite! The two things he was greatly proud of was owning his own home and becoming an American Citizen.He is survived by his wife, Jennie; daughter, Soledad Guzman (Ramon); grandchildren Daniel and Vanessa Guzman; great grandchildren, Isaac Guzman(El Chulo) and Steven Lopez (Mi Huero) all from Visalia, and his brother Pedro Medina of Puerto Vallarta Mexico.Arturo is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Salvador Medina, Enrique, Alfredo Medina and Jose Medina, sisters; Soledad Medina and Aurora Medina, as well as loving nephew, Greg Mascorro, whom he greatly missed. He was also preceded in death by long time friends, Juan Reynoso, Juan Gonzalez, Roberto Arechiga, Ysidro Rivas among others.He will be greatly missed by his wife, daughter, grandchildren, great-grand children, brother and sister in laws, nephews, nieces and many friends. Esto no es un adios nada mas un hasta luego. Que Dios te bendiga.A viewing will be held Sunday June 18, 2017 at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel from 4 PM to 8 PM and a rosary at 6 PM. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be Monday, June 19, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10 AM followed by a graveside service at Visalia District Cemetery. Condolences can be made to
